Swiper No Swiping with Emerson Hancock

Getting a podcast started is never an easy task, you need a must listen topic or guest that will attract listeners from all over. Who better than coast to coast star Emerson Hancock. Hancock is not only a University of Georgia legend, he is now a top prospect on a west coast team, the Seattle Mariners. Emerson and Cole played together at Georgia in '19 and '20 and formed a duo that was poised to lead the Dawgs to Omaha before COVID decided to ruin the fun.

Emerson is coming off a fantastic minor league debut year by posting a 2.62 ERA over two different destinations (Everette & Arkansas) with 43 punchies and 17 walks. We discuss his time at both places and Emerson shares some insight to the travel, food, and housing he ran into while playing in both leagues. Hancock and Schnell also both share cool stories on what it's like to get moved up to the next level, and the process you go through once that happens.

The history between the two Georgia Natives is what makes this a must listen podcast episode. Emerson and Cole start out talking about what it means to play for the University of Georgia as two kids growing up in the state. The guys reminisce on some fun times and learning experiences along the way, and how being there together and with many other talented players helped them grow as baseball players. No stories were better than this one though

Emerson ends the show talking about the exciting future of the Mariners. He gives Mariners fans something to look forward to by discussing what it's like playing with guys like Julio Rodriguez, Jarred Kelenic, and George Kirby. With these guys and Emerson, Seattle should be set up for an fun decade.
